Ma quando Adriana lascia Mauro dopo aver ricevuto una proposta di lavoro, quest'ultimo, deluso, si lancia in una ennesima sfida contro Stefano, rischiando la vita e sarà proprio il suo rivale a salvarlo, suggellando la nascita di un'amicizia. Mauro, convinto che Adriana stia per sposare un altro, la rincorre e le dichiara il suo amore. I due fuggono via in elicottero.
