本作は、13歳のときから現在に至るまで拉致されたままの横田めぐみさんを主軸に、田口八重子さんを含む拉致被害者の苦悩と闘いを、綿密な取材にもとづきリアルに描写した劇映画。1人の女性が体験する悲劇や、家族の愛情と正義に立ち向かう人々の織りなすドラマが映し出される。
